The Mamitra Hospital App is a mobile-first solution built for health workers/supervisors to register, monitor, and manage maternal and neonatal health cases at the point of care. It’s deeply integrated with backend systems for real-time data sync, complication tracking, and follow-up management.

Our team played a key role in enhancing the MaMitra Hospital App to streamline data capture and strengthen maternal health tracking within hospital settings. We upgraded the beneficiary registration module to include comprehensive risk indicators and real-time high-risk classification logic based on clinical factors such as blood pressure, USG findings, and urine protein levels. The complication reporting section was expanded to cover both pre- and postnatal complications, and data quality was improved by removing null values. We also developed a detailed delivery outcome tracking system, including stillbirths, miscarriages, and neonatal deaths, and updated the closure logic to exclude live births as negative outcomes. To maintain data integrity, we built a backend utility to identify and manage duplicate records.

 

mMitra++

We supported the enhancement of ARMMAN’s pregnancy care initiatives by transforming the existing mMitra system into mMitra++, with a specific focus on high-risk pregnancies in urban slums and peri-urban areas. As part of this project, we developed and implemented revamped modules for:

• Beneficiary enrollment
• High-risk identification
• Targeted messaging through IVR and WhatsApp-Journeys on Turn.io

Unlike the MaMitra platform, which targets hospital-registered beneficiaries, and IHRPTM, which focuses on strengthening the health system, mMitra++ was designed by us to enable direct community outreach. It leverages CHWs to identify and enroll eligible pregnant women and mothers with infants up to 6 months old.

As per the program logic we implemented, beneficiaries already enrolled in MaMitra are excluded from mMitra++ to avoid duplication and ensure targeted outreach.
